The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

VideogamesMusic

Lucca Comics & Games presents The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Music from the Continent, a symphonic concert dedicated to CD PROJEKT RED’s famous video game and its DLCs. It will be held on Friday 28th October at 9:30 PM inside the Music & Comics Arena.

A special guest will be conducting from the podium: Eimear Noone (photo by Kim Matthai Leland), author of 26 films and video games soundtracks, including “World of Warcraft”. Eimear was the first woman ever to conduct the Academy Awards orchestra, and her music has reached over 100 million people in almost 15 years.

Songs from the original soundtrack will be played by musicians from the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana di Fiesole, accompanied by the Polish folk metal band Percival Schuttenbach. This is a unique event, created in collaboration with Lucca’s Teatro del Giglio to celebrate the 20th anniversary of CD PROJEKT RED, the popular Polish publishing house.

We will witness a new mutation: in fact, everything started from The Witcher Saga, a cycle of novels and fantasy stories that turned into a video game of global success with CDPR, and then into a TV series (“The Witcher”) thanks to Netflix. The saga is now coming back to Lucca with a lot of news and will re-propose the same atmospheres, also thanks to the language of music. This is the magic of Lucca Comics & Games.

The concert will alternate“The Witcher 3” theme songs with short and evocative pieces by Giacomo Puccini, whose modern language has inspired generations of film and video game music composers and will also inspire the audience at Lucca Comics & Games.
