The great return of music

Music

The Music Area has never turned off, but it is finally possible to party all together again! The chosen venue is the Pala Tagliate di Lucca, which will be turned into the Music & Comics Arena for the occasion. The access will be reserved to the festival ticket holders, and in the case of some evening shows, a discounted ticket will be available for those who already own the Lucca Comics & Games 2022 access ticket.

Many artists couldn't miss such an important event: the queen of theme songs Cristina D'Avena, fresh from the celebrations for her 40-year career, “captain” Giorgio Vanni, with the ever-present energy which characterises all his performances, and a milestone of Italian music history such as the Oliver Onions. It will also be a big “homecoming” for Animeniacs Corp., after a long summer tour which has seen them successfully perform throughout Italy. Another must-see event for theme songs lovers will be the Anime Vocal Contest Final, which includes a record production as a prize for the winner.

On 28th October, the evening programme will see the Lucca Music Arena host a really prestigious event: a concert made just for Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, dedicated to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its DLCs. Songs from the original soundtrack will be played by musicians from the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana di Fiesole, accompanied by the Polish folk metal band Percival Schuttenbach. A special guest will be conducting from the podium: Eimear Noone, author of 26 films and video games soundtracks, including World of Warcraft. Eimear was the first woman ever to conduct the Academy Awards orchestra, and her music has reached over 100 million people in almost 15 years.

Staying on the subject of video games, on Sunday 30th October the stage will host a great event set up by Riot for the semi-finals of the League of Legends Worlds, with a DJ set by Manuelito/Hell Raton, a very young X-Factor judge, and the concert by Nitro, one of the most important artists of the Italian hip hop scene. After that, the audience will be able to watch the Worlds semi-finals, a spectacular event that mixes music and esports in a unique way, in a party that will accompany the spectators until late at night.

On Saturday 29th October, Rhapsody's symphonic power metal will take the stage. This legendary band has always drawn inspiration from the fantasy world for its music, mainly from Hollywood movie soundtracks, going as far as to call their style “Hollywood metal”.

Then, more live music with the Chocobo Band, who will rework the most beautiful themes from Final Fantasy soundtracks with the grit of Japanese progressive metal, as well as the presence of Dari, who will come to Lucca with their new tour to bring their “emotronic” music on the stage. Nanowar of Steel will be present too, with their heavy metal/“demented rock”.

Many more important guests will take the stage in the renovated Music area, for now this is just a taste of what awaits you during the days of the festival!
