Awaiting the first retrospective that celebrates the 50-year career of visionary Sensei Yoshitaka Amano, Amano Corpus Animae, scheduled from November 13th, 2024, to March 1st, 2025, at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, Lucca Comics & Games launches on Thursday, July 18th  (from 6 p.m. CET) an unprecedented campaign on Kickstarter to actively participate in the largest and most complete exhibition ever dedicated to the Japanese artist in the West.

With over 120 original works, the Amano Corpus Animae  exhibition, curated for Lucca Comics & Games by Fabio Viola, cultural collaborator of the Videogames area, will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to tell the story of world animation and entertainment through the vision of a unique and multifaceted artist. The setting will be Milan, an international crossroads of design, fashion, art and entertainment, a bridge between the visual arts and a space that celebrates creativity.

By participating in the campaign organized for this occasion on the Kickstarter platform, you will be able to fully join the community of “super fans" of Sensei Yoshitaka Amano on his first exhibition in Europe. With an original formula for an art exhibition, the goal of the campaign will not be to finance the exhibition, produced in itself by Lucca Crea, but to give everyone, even the fans who will not be able to physically travel to Milan, the opportunity to take part in the great exhibition dedicated to Sensei Amano and thus leave their name in history.

The Kickstarter campaign is a way to gain access to experiences, exclusive products and limited editions, such as:

  • The unique chance to win a visit to the exhibition directly accompanied by Yoshitaka Amano: an exceptional event with a limited number of 40 tickets.
  • Among the many rewards that can be purchased on the platform, there will be the possibility of having your name included in the Backers Wall, which will open the exhibition, and where the names of all those who supported Master Amano’s first exhibition in Europe will appear, thus becoming part of its history.
  • By joining the campaign, it will be possible to have access to an exclusive line of products made especially for the exhibition: limited edition and deluxe edition autographed art prints, the exhibition catalogue in different editions, including the numbered and signed Special Edition. There will also be unique gadgets such as the miniatures, the silk scarf made in Italy, Tosca, in two sizes (140x80 and 40x40) with the illustration that Amano created exclusively for the Puccini Centenary: the poster of Lucca Comics & Games 2024; the Tosca Notebook and two original T-shirts with images inspired by Candy Girl and some of the characters from one of Sensei's most famous video games.

Additionally, the purchase of the exhibition ticket will give access not only to the exhibition, but also to all the events, workshops, talks and artistic challenges with internationally renowned illustrators, animators, designers and stylists that will animate the Master of Shizuoka's exhibition during its 100-day stay on the Fabbrica del Vapore premises.

For the first time, it will also be possible to  purchase an exclusive open day ticket for Lucca Comics & Games: this will allow you to visit the international fair on any day from October 30th to November 3rd (7,000 open tickets available; no further releases of this type of ticket will be made). This extraordinary ticket can only be purchased through the campaign on Kickstarter.

Exclusively, by booking through the campaign on Kickstarter, it will also be possible to visit the Amano Corpus Animae exhibition accompanied by three friends and great fans of Sensei, representing the great communities of Lucca Comics & Games: the founder of Need Games! Nicola De Gobbis, representing the publishers, the illustrator Paolo Barbieri, on behalf of the artists, and Cristina Scabbia, voice of Lacuna Coil, on behalf of all the great bards and storytellers.

In addition to the poster inspired by Tosca, Yoshitaka Amano will be the author of two other posters for Lucca Comics & Games 2024: an opera in three acts linked to the Puccini Centenary. The next two will be unveiled on September 25th (during Act II, Crescendo, the press conference in Milan) and on October 30th, at the event opening (Act III). The two not yet revealed posters will be part of a special Kickstarter campaign offering deluxe edition prints.

Here’s how to take part in the Kickstarter campaign, from July 18th (6 p.m.) to August 9th.
