Cthulhu CUP by CMON arrives in Lucca

On Friday 3 November at 7 p.m. the Porta Elisa stadium (the stadium of the Lucchese team) will host the first edition of the "Cthulhu Cup", a quadrangularfive-a-side football tournament that will see designers, fans, board game "professionals" and some representatives of the Lucchese team challenge each other.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Games section of the festival, promoted by CMON and born from an idea of GiPi (stage name of Gianni Pacinotti: cartoonist, illustrator and director), the first Cthulhu Trophy will be free admission (i.e. no ticket is required, not even that of Lucca Comics & Games) while places last. 

There will be four teams competing: the National Comics Team (sponsored by Bonobolabo) with Davide Reviati's team of great artists: Jacopo Masini, Simone Angelini, Antonio Pronostico, Fulvio Risuleo, Paolo Bacilieri, Oscar Glioti, Michele Petrucci, Paolo Castaldi, Martoz, Claudio Marinaccio and Lorenzo Coltellacci; the Boardgames All Star (sponsored by Asmodee) captained by Massimo Bianchini (also CT, Asmodee Italia): Stefano De Carolis and Giulio Bartolo (Giochi Uniti), Simone Serrao, Giovanni Segala and Eugen Shabanaj (Mancalamaro), Matteo Cleri (Yas Games), Yuri Barbosa Fang (Asmodee Brazil), Gino Dario Padovani and Luca Cattini (Asmodee Italia); the Real Zigan (sponsored by CMON) which sees GiPi as president as well as founder of the team made up of a group of boys of Roma ethnicity coached by Enrico Zanchini: Ricky Hamidovic, Zinad Hamidovic, Bajro Hamidovic, Cristian Hamidovic, Richard Hamidovic, Islam Hamidovic, Mustafa Cizmic, Tony Hamidovic, Danilo Hamidovic; and Lucca città del Fumetto e del Gioco (sponsored by Lucchese1905) of which Nicola Lucchesi himself is the selector, not only president of Lucca Crea, who has selected among the team members: Giorgio Giusfredi, Fabio Valdambrini, Ray Lo Faso (AD Lucchese 1905), the historic flag Bruno Russo and many other local heroes. 

Kicking off, together with Lucca Comics & Games director Emanuele Vietina, was football great Demetrio Albertini, whose football history is linked to that of AC Milan and the Italian national team. Refereed by Manuela Nicolosi and Alessandro Iuliano, the Cthulhu CUP will be commented livebyZona Fanta. 

Lucchese 1905, finally, will also be present at Villa Bottini with a stand and through activities organised inside the garden, where it will be possible to shoot on goal against one of the team's goalkeepers, and all those who will succeed in the feat will receive a special Lego brick with the Cthulhu Cup logo.
