Pete Fenlon, game designer, cartographer, Tolkien collector, and CEO of Catan Studio will be present in Lucca for the first time. He will be the first one to start the Catan Dayon Saturday 4thNovember: a series of panel and tournament activities to remember the creator of “Settlers of Catan”, Klaus Teuber, who recently passed away.

 

For the occasion, Lucca Comics & Games will also host the 23/24 Catan National Championship, in which it will be possible to compete to win the access to the tables of the national Final. The tournament will take place in the Playroom of the Carducci Pavilion, and participation will be completely free with a maximum number of participants of 30. Up for grabs, for the first place winner, will be a €30 voucher valid for purchases at the “Giochi Uniti” stand.

 

Catan, published for the first time in 1995, is the title that revolutionised the world of board games forever, introducing the concept of “German-style board game” for the first time. Today, 28 years later, Catan remains an absolute classic of the genre, with 30 million of sold copies, and localisations in 40 different languages.

 

Also for Giochi uniti, 1 November will be the Day One of Penny Dreadfuls - The Horror of London, the authorsand the game will be present in Lucca, previewed in Essen, will be available for sale.


Also thanksto the collaboration with Giochi Uniti, the author of Paleo, Peter Rustemeyer, will be present in Lucca, for the release of the first expansion of the game, awarded in 2021 with the Kennerspiel des Jahres, the prize for the best ‘expert’ game.
