Melissa Benson

Melissa Benson
is one of the original 25 artists of “Magic: The Gathering”: she has drawn more than 60 card illustrations, from the “Alpha” edition, to “Urza’s Legacy”. Her most known creations are Shivan Dragon, Nightmare, Lord of Atlantis, Mega Pegasus… They are not so much used in the game, but they have a great historic and collectible value.

She uses a palette full of bright and lively colours; in her work of arts, she prefers to use organic forms of flowers and animals, together with mythical images, to create an alternative reality full of beauty and mystery.

Besides “Magic”, she has worked for White Wolf, Iron Crown Entertainment, Black Dragon Press and Z-Man Games.

Melissa Benson will be a Lucca Comics & Games guest in collaboration with Nebraska’s War.
