Brian Stillman

Brian Stillman

Brian Stillman (Co-Producer, Co-Director, Cinematography) loves gaming and pop culture and has been making documentaries and doc-series about them for more than 15 years.

His first movie, Plastic Galaxy: The Story of Star Wars Toys, was released in 2014, and he partnered with Cavegirl Productions to make Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons & Dragons in 2018.

He’s also a producer on the hit Netflix docu-series The Toys That Made Us and has worked as a field producer on The Movies That Made Us, Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek, and various other shows.

He currently has two other (as yet unannounced) documentaries in pre-production.

Brian spent more than a decade as an editor at Guitar World and the music magazine Revolver, and also covered NYC as a broadcast journalist for many years.

An avowed and self-proclaimed geek, Brian’s been playing D&D since 1st edition, and picked up his first Magic cards in early 1995 (though he was terrible at the game until just a few years ago).

When not making movies, he collects vintage space toys and Japanese robots; screen-used Star Trek props; and original science fiction, fantasy, and gaming art. Brian and his wife, an animator, live under the adorable iron fists of their two house panthers, Smidge and Smudge, in NYC.
