The exhibition collects the panels selected by the Jury of the Lucca Junior Contest - Editorial Illustration award “Livio Sossi” 2024.
The purpose of the competition is to create an illustrated project based on the original text “A volte arriva il buio” written by Francesco Morgando.
The projects in competition were 425 and among them the Jury - made by the President, Paolo d’Altan (illustrator) and by Loredana Baldinucci (Editor Publisher Il Castoro), Gud (Cartoonist, Art Director Book on A Tree), Alessandra Sconosciuto (Coordinator Ars in Fabula - Illustration School), Alfredo Stoppa (Author, expert in Publishing for Children) - picked the most interesting panels and storyboards and chose the winning project, collected in this contest.
Each panel corresponds to the pages of the book to be illustrated, starting from the text by Francesco Morgando. Visiting the exhibition, it will be possible to discover how each artist has personally interpreted the same text, with the use of graphics solutions, composition, characters, colors and various techniques.
The winning project by Melinda Berti has become an illustrated book published by Publisher Il Castoro and will be showcased in this edition of Lucca Comics & Games 2024.
