20 years of Tunué
Tunué celebrates at Lucca Comics&Games 2024 its first 20 years with a double unmissable stand: the historical one in piazza Napoleone and “Casa Tunué” in piazza San Giusto with an entire pavilion full of surprises and meetings to celebrate this important birthday.
For the occasion Tunué brings to Lucca an extraordinary team of international guests starting from Gene Luen Yang: in conjunction with his new graphic novel Lunar new year love story, the American award-winning author (Eisner Award, Harvey Award, National Book Award, Printz Award) who is already National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature will be for the first time in Italy.
The contemporary comic master Paco Roca could not miss this special anniversary – for which he designed the exclusive logo -, who together with the journalist of the El MundoRodrigo Terrasa will present to Italian readers El abismo del olvido.
At Lucca Comics there will also be Tony Sandoval and his unique stretch for La città del dragone based on a script by Joann Sfar.
At Lucca arrives the wonder with GreenWood and its authors Barbara Canepa (W.I.T.C.H, Monster Allergy, Sky Doll…) and Florent Sacré, extraordinary designer, author of successful video games such as Assassin’s Creed and Rabbids.
Among Italian authors the pun champion Pera Toons, for months in the standings with all his titles and toward 2 million copies sold, will be protagonist of many meetings during the event and of the Pera Toons Experience, hosted in the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca.
It is not an exhibition, not even a simple experience: it is a fun and playful adventure in the world of Pera Toons among areas for young readers and families, retracing some of his stories, together with the trusted friends Kenny and Ely and new figures…skeletons, dinosaurs and mummies! An interactive and sensorial journey that transports visitors to different, coloured and fun worlds with different activities to involve little visitors of all ages. Relax areas, spaces that can be coloured, corners of different worlds…and cartoons at will!
Among the exclusive events, the first PERAde, the parade of Pera Toons fans and friends, will start from the city centre and will finish at San Romano where the great event dedicated to him will take place: on October 31st, from 5:00 PM.
Even Giulio Rincione, who is back to Lucca with the unpublished first and second volume of the Dirt saga.
Among the most waited news and previews we have The lost book of Monster Allergy, that celebrates 20 years of the loved series, and the integral volume of 7CRIMINI with an untold story; Il limite del mondo by Francesco Memo and Barbara Borlini, Perché sei qui? By Greta Xella and Francesca Picozzi, L’improvvisatore by Sualzo, Mangiami by Francesco Metteuzzi and Gregorio Di Angilla. There is also space for the youngest with the second volume of Sonic, the new adventures of Brina by Christian Cornia and Giorgio Salati and the box set of La Banda del pallone by Loris De Marco and Enrico Nebbiosi Martini.
