The expanse

Lucca Comics & Games, in collaboration with Fanucci Editore, will have the honor of hosting James S.A. Corey, pen name of Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, authors of the sci-fi saga “The Expanse”. The two American writers will present in Lucca the Italian edition of “Tiamat's Wrath”, the eighth novel of the saga, and they will discuss their work and science fiction in general.

Jointly written by them, “The Expanse” is a perfect example of cross-media work: born at the beginning of the 21st century from an idea by Ty Franck for an MMORPG setting and evolved as a setting for RPG, in the 2011 it turned into a literary saga thanks to Daniel Abraham's intuition.

Its great literary success brought it to the screen in 2014 with a TV series: the fourth season will be released this year and the fifth has already been announced.

2018, however, recorded the “return to the origins”, that is to say to the game world: two successful Kickstarter initiatives brought the board game and the role-playing game of The Expanse to the prints. The work embodies that playful and fantastic culture that Lucca Comics & Games, for years, has been representing in its multiple incarnations.
