Emil Ferris grew up in Chicago during the turbulent 60's and she still lives there. She graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago. She is clearly a devoted fan of all that is monstrous and terrifying.

In the old days, Emil was an illustrator and toy designer. In 2010, she received the Fellowship Toby Devan Lewis for visual arts. “My Favorite Thing Is Monsters” is the first, but not last, graphic novel by Emil.

An exhibition is dedicated to Emil Ferris who will be one of the guests at Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with Bao Publishing.
