Frequently asked questions - FAQ

WHEN

When can I purchase online daily tickets and/or badges?

From 1 September 2015, from 3 p.m., until 1 November 2015 (if tickets are still available).

When will the program be online, so I can choose on which day(s) to come?

As you can easily imagine, events are subject to additions or variations until a few days before the festival. This year we will publish the events' details as soon as we schedule them, to help you in your choice. For example: as soon as we schedule date and time of any event, concert, or tournament, we will publish them on our website.

When will the ticket booths in Lucca be open?

Ticket booths will be open from Thursday, 29 October, to Sunday, 1 November, every day from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

FIXED LIMIT OF 80.000 TICKETS PER DAY

What do you exactly mean when you say "There will be a fixed limit of 80.000 tickets available per day for each day of the festival"?

For each of the 4 days, we have fixed a limit of 80.000 (paying) visitors, including both daily tickets and badges.

The number of 80.000 comprises tickets sold online, tickets sold at the official pre-sale points (see below), and tickets sold at the tickets booths in Lucca, if tickets are still available.

How do I know if you already reached the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets per day, and for which day?

You will be able to know the constantly updated number of tickets still available for each day on our website. That will be the only official information source about the number of tickets still available.

Does the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets per day include the badges?

Yes, it does.

Does the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets per day include the tickets and/or the badges sold at the official pre-sale points (see below)?

Yes, it does.

Does the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets per day include any kind of pass (individual pass, exhibitor pass, press pass, guest pass, author pass, etc.) and/or any kind of free entrance ticket (children born after 1 January 2006, disabled, etc.)?

No, it includes only tickets and badges sold to visitors.

Can I purchase "open" tickets and/or badges?

No, tickets and/or badges are valid only for specific day(s).

Think about a big concert, with a fixed capacity. If you want to be sure to have the chance to watch the show, and if you don't want to miss your favourite singer or group performing, you have to book your place.

Are you doing this to earn more from pre-sale charges?

No, we are not.

We are doing this to let you, paying visitor, enjoy the festival in the most serene and full way: last year a lot of visitors did not manage to even enter some of the pavilions.

In addition, we have arranged more pavilions, in order to improve the artistic and commercial offer of the festival, as well as a more sustainable distribution of visitors.

As far as the pre-sale charges are concerned, we don't collect them, but the Supplier agreed on a price within everybody's reach.

HOW TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKET (ONLINE OR OFFLINE)

Is'it mandatory to purchase my ticket and/or badges online or can I also purchase them at a ticket booth in Lucca or at an official pre-sale point?

We suggest purchasing tickets online, but it is not mandatory.

However, if the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets per day is reached before the festival begins, you will not be able to purchase any more ticket and/or badge at any ticket booth in Lucca for that day(s).

What kind of badges will be available?

You can choose the following kind of badges:

  • 2 days badge:

    • Thursday - Friday
    • Friday - Saturday
    • Saturday - Sunday

  • 3 days badge:

    • Thursday - Friday - Saturday
    • Friday - Saturday - Sunday

  • 4 days badge

Are the badges available only for consecutive days (i.e.: Thursday - Friday), or can I purchase a badge even for non consecutive days (i.e.: Thursday - Saturday)?

Badges are available only for consecutive days.

Are daily tickets and/or badges personal?

No, they aren't.

Are there any official pre-sale points in Lucca and/or in other cities, where I can purchase (also by cash) my tickets and/or badges before the festival, like I did last year?

Yes, you can purchase tickets and/or badges through Vivaticket, where the same conditions for "Print@Home" shall apply until 26 October (see questions below).

At most pre-sale points you can purchase your ticket paying both by cash or by POS (debit card), but we suggest to make sure of that, calling the pre-sale point of your choice in advance.

As soon as other official pre-sale points are available, we will update this page. We suggest you to check it frequently.

"Print@home"

  • Choose one day or the badge you want.
  • You will receive it right away via email, without shipping costs.
  • You just need to print it and take it with you in Lucca the day you chose.
  • Show it at the Welcome Desk that you will find in every ticket booth.
  • Take your bracelet and enter the pavilions.
  • You can purchase it until 1 November 2015, at 3 p.m. (until 25 October at Vivaticket pre-sale points), provided that the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets has not been reached for the day(s) of your choice.

What kind of tickets can I purchase at Vivaticket pre-sale points?

You can purchase only “Print@home” tickets under the same conditions above stated, until 25 October. In practice: it is an online purchase of a "Print@Home" ticket, but made through the operator of the Vivaticket pre-sale point. In most of them you can purchase your ticket paying both by cash or by POS (debit card), but we suggest to make sure of that, calling the pre-sale point of your choice in advance.

Are there any discounts? If so, can I purchase online a reduced ticket?

Yes, if you have Carta Più Feltrinelli or season tickets for Women's Basketball Team Le Mura Lucca.

You can purchase online reduced tickets only with the Print@Home option.

If I have the train ticket, can I purchase a reduced ticket at the ticket booths in Lucca, as I did last year?

No, you can't

If I don't have a credit card, how can I purchase a ticket and/or badge online?

You can purchase online also by stored-value card (e.g. PostePay) or through MyBank. As soon as any other paying method will be available, we will update this page. We suggest you to check it frequently.

Can I pay in cash at the ticket booths in Lucca to purchase tickets and/or badges?

Yes, provided that the fixed limit of 80.000 tickets has not been reached for the day(s) of your choice.

LINES, TICKETS AND BRACELETS

Do I still have to stand in line, even if I purchase online my ticket and/or badge?

Yes, but only if you purchase your ticket and/or badge with the Print@Home option, because you need to get your bracelet.

Can I walk freely throughout Lucca with no need for passes or special permits, if I choose not to purchase a ticket or if I live in the City Centre?

At the moment, people, both residents and non-residents, can walk freely throughout the City Center with no limitation. Therefore, you don't need a pass or a special permit.

Can I modify or cancel the ticket I purchased online, if I need to? If so, by when? Do I need to pay a fee to change the day of my ticket? How much will you reimburse me, if I cancel my ticket?

You cannot change the date of your ticket.

But you can claim for a reimbursement (the pre-sale charge will not be reimbursed) by 20 October 2015, calling Best Union's Call Center: 892.234. You will be given all the information you need for the procedure.

Are there free entrance tickets for disabled visitors? If so, how can I get one? For what types of disabilities is the free entrance ticket planned? Do I need to have a certificate? Will any specially accessible ingress be there?

Visitors in wheelchair can enter any pavilion and any area of the festival open to the public for free every day. Their companion (one) have the right to purchase a reduced ticket; you can purchase the ticket in the same way you purchase any other reduced ticket (see above).

Visitors in wheelchair (and only them) don't need to purchase a specific ticket or badge, nor to show a certificate. When they are at the entrance of a pavilion, they just need to ask the staff to enter, together with their companion provided with their reduced ticket. Both visitors in wheelchair and their companion remain subject to the general safety measures for the entire duration of the festival, as any other visitor is (e.g. places still available in a cinema; reaching the maximum capacity of a pavilion). Therefore we suggest, to any visitor, to take into account the possibility of standing in line or of a great turn-out at some places or events.

A specially accessible ingress will be available at Padiglione Carducci (Lucca Games). In the other pavilions and areas of the festival specially accessible ingresses will not be available, but our staff will do their best to facilitate the entry.
